Fluke
The fluke forecast is produced in collaboration with the parasitology dept. Liverpool Vet School using detailed Met Office data for 40 sq km areas across the UK. Risk levels are calculated from spring/summer rainfall data so likely acute fluke risk for sheep is given for the autumn and risk of chronic disease in sheep and cattle is updated through the winter. Animals grazing flukey fields that remain wet during the dry summer period maybe at a higher risk.
